About
The "International Workshop on Computational Nanotechnology" (IWCN) covers all aspects of advanced simulation of electronic transport and optoelectronic processes in semiconductors and semiconductor devices based on both inorganic and organic materials.
Conference topics include:
- Electronic/thermal/spin transport and first principles calculations in the context of transport studies
- Modeling and simulation of advanced CMOS, more-than-Moore devices, BEOL components, low-dimensional channel materials, and computing methods beyond binary computing
- Advanced CMOS: FinFET, GAA, nanosheet, CFET, oxide-semiconductor devices, cryogenic CMOS devices, etc.
- More-than-Moore devices: Photonic, memory, sensor, power, energy-efficient devices, spintronic, bioelectronic, organic/molecular devices, etc.
- BEOL components: Interconnects, contacts, vias, electromigration, etc.
- Low-dimensional channel materials: 2D transition metal dichalcogenides, carbon nanotube transistors, etc.
- Computing methods beyond binary computing: Neuromorphic computing, quantum computing, brain-inspired nanoelectronics, etc.
The conference is the leading forum for discussions on current trends and future directions of computational nanotechnology. Emphasis is placed on the interdisciplinary aspects of computational nanotechnology, which combines a diverse range of fields, including electronics, engineering, physics, and applied mathematics, as well as chemistry and biology.
The scientific program is traditionally organized in a single-session format and consists of invited lectures, contributed talks, and poster presentations. Active participation of graduate students, including student presentations, is strongly encouraged.
The conference series were started in 1992 under the original name the "International Workshop on Computational Electronics" (IWCE). In 2016, the name was changed to the "International Workshop on Computational Nanotechnology" (IWCN).
More information about the workshop series — including its history, past editions, committees, and publications — is available on the official IWCN website: www.iwcn.info.
